MEET MS. JESSICA PEISCH, REDWOOD ATHLETIC DIRECTOR Graciously making herself available for the 2010 Redwood Girls Varsity Biography questions, Jessica offered these insights into her life.
Yes, Jessica has a nickname and it's "Peischy". And she doesn't watch either Glee or Jersey Shore. If you guessed that she is a yogurt fan, you guessed correctly.
Now for some really impressive facts about why we are so fortunate to have Jessica as our Athletic Director. Here are four moments and memories for her days as a student-athlete.
1. She earned a Division 1 Athletic Scholarship for her excellence as a soccer player;
2. Scoring her first goal in college;
3. Playing soccer in Japan;
4. Playing against the Ghana and Mexico National Soccer Teams.
WOW. So girls, I'm betting that Ms. Peisch would be happy to talk with you about how she handled the pressure in playing world class soccer. She might also offer some tips about playing sports in college and how she managed that and being a great student.
As a true student-athlete Jessica also has a fond recollection of her high school days.
"My favorite class at Clovis West High School (Fresno, CA) was statistics. It was taught by Geri Olson, who was also my high school soccer coach. She made learning interesting and fun".
Returning to the vital questions about this year's team, Jessica did not discuss her choices for 'hair care products' star to be, nor did she identify the best singer or funniest member of the 2010 Redwood Varsity.
HOWEVER, for the question "Best dancer?"... she wrote "That would be me!".
Thank you Jessica for sharing a bit of yourself with the Redwood community. Thank you for being a great role model to our student-athletes, boys and girls alike - but especially for the girls. And thank you for everything you and your colleagues do for our students in the classroom and in their extra-curricular life.
GO REDWOOD!
